If you want to post on craigslist , you don't need to craigslist account but it can good to you if you have craigslist list account. 
i.e. If you have craigslist account and start post on this account and follow all the posting step and you receive an email stating the ad will post within .,,. minutes.

If you want to do post without craigslist account then you will receive an email which tell that you must confirm that you want to submit a posting before your post will ever be in line to be posted for the public to view. (Craigslist Techniques)
